Every single person at Fogra stands for research, testing and certification.

Like the testing of washing agents for offset printing presses, compatibility tests (including tests with elastomeric materials) are carried out for brush washing systems manufactured by Baldwin Technology GmbH. Furthermore, the risk of corrosion is evaluated. The washing system manufacturer grants approval of water-based flexo cleaners, thereby certifying the cleaning agents.

Approved products are entered into and published on the manufacturers' databases. You can indicate the approval on the product itself in the form of a FograCert logo.

All washing agents recommended for new washing systems must at least have successfully passed the technical approval test at Fogra. This technical approval test is the prerequisite for warranty claims during the warranty period in the event of possible press damage.

Would you like to have your washing agent certified (validity: 5 years) or renew an existing certification?

We require the following documents from you in digital form:

a written order for the approval test,
the safety data sheet,
the recommended maximum concentration.

In addition, 1 litre of the washing agent must be sent to Fogra to carry out the approval test.

Upon receipt of the order by Fogra, you will receive an order confirmation summarising all details regarding the test period, contact person and pricing. The processing time for an approval test is approximately 10 to 12 weeks.

The test criteria are individually agreed with the washing system manufacturer. As machine components are also tested, detailed information on the materials used for the tests cannot be disclosed.

Once the test is complete, Fogra sends the manufacturer of the washing system a final report containing all the results. Based on the test results, the manufacturer decides whether the product can be recommended for use in the washing system. In the event of successful certification, the machine manufacturer authorises Fogra to issue the test certificate.
