Press releases 08/19/2022

Ministerial Director Dr Manfred Wolter from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy visited the premises in Aschheim on Wednesday, 17 August 2022 to talk about Fogra's activities and possible funding.

Dr Wolter, Head of the Department of Innovation, Research, Technology, Digitalisation of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, met with the Managing Director of Fogra, Dr Eduard Neufeld, in Aschheim on August 17, 2022.

In the joint exchange, topics were discussed on the current situation of the funding programmes: the Industrial Cooperative Research (IGF) and the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM) in the context of the scientific organisations AiF and ZUSE. Also discussed were instruments of research funding by the Bavarian State, which benefits also numerous small and medium-sized enterprises in the form of practically relevant research results.

During a tour of the laboratories, Dr Wolter was impressed by the diversity of topics covered, from prepress and print to materials research and the security applications of banknotes as well as bank and identity cards. Dr Wolter's department was already involved in the process of constructing the research building. He was pleased that the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs' investment of three million euros has led to the establishment of an innovation centre for the printing and media industry in Aschheim, which also strengthens the competitive power of Fogra members.
