Technical and colourimetric evaluation of printed copies

The examinations offered are as varied as the printed products and their defects. These include ink abrasion, blocking, ghosting, mottling, register deviations and doubling. Furthermore, the conformity with the ProcessStandard Offset (PSO) or ISO 12647 and the colour match between proof and production run can be checked.

Offset ink mileage

The mileage of printing inks is an important property for print shops. It determines the number of prints that can be printed with a certain amount of ink and is therefore an indicator of the expected material consumption and the associated costs.

In combination with the embrittlement of the paper due to heatset drying, the mechanical stresses during folding lead to a significant reduction in strength properties. This can lead to breaking of the fold. It is often noticed too late when individual pages of the finished printed product are torn out of a staple or thread binding.

Printing press testing

Printing press testings have been offered for more than three decades in the context of private and court expertises. The focus is on sheet-fed and web offset printing presses, metal decorating presses and special printing presses, e.g. from the packaging sector.
