Softproof refers to the display of colour data on a monitor or projector, where the colours appear to simulate a printing condition for specific lighting and environmental conditions. With the FograCert Softproof Monitor you prove that your monitor can be used in a certifiable softproof system. The certification comes with a certificate and a FograCert logo. Certification details are listed in our FogaCert database.

Our procedure
Your monitor will be tested and certified according to the following criteria:
Viewing angle stability
Uniformity
Warm-up behaviour
The criteria have been developed as part of the researchproject „Set up and evaluation of a softproof workstation“ that was supported by the Project Advisory Group (PA).
Is a tested monitor typical for an entire production series?
In our experience, the warm-up behaviour as well as the viewing angle characteristics of a sample can be considered exemplary for the given model series. However, the homogeneity of a single pattern does not always have to be typical for a series and may change during the service life due to component aging. We therefore recommend that softproof users test the homogeneity of a monitor themselves. The Fogra monitor test images are a useful tool for visual assessment of homogeneity, viewing angle characteristics and calibration.
