Your benefit
The purchase price of a certain amount of ink alone is not sufficient to assess the actual material costs of a print production. Expensive printing inks can prove to be more cost-effective if their mileage is correspondingly higher.
A mileage analysis makes it possible to compare printing inks available on the market. Since the mileage is inversely proportional to the ink consumption, the most cost-effective variant for daily use can be determined.
Your contact
Print shops can save money by selecting inks with a high mileage. Contact me without obligation, I will be happy to advise you!
What you need to do
To determine the mileage, it is sufficient to send approx. 100 g of each printing ink to Fogra. As the mileage can depend on the substrate used, it is recommended that you also provide a paper that is frequently used in printing practice.
Please send printing inks (and paper) to:

Our procedure
Colouring series with graded ink application are produced on the test printing device. The corresponding optical densities are shown in a diagram as a function of the quantity of printing ink. In addition, a numerical evaluation is carried out.
On request, an additional colourimetric analysis can be carried out. This determines the quantity of ink required for the best approximation to the target colour values of the ProcessStandard Offset (PSO) or ISO 12647.
